GSRP Program

Ages 4 years (if born before December 1st)

Michigan has set a goal to deliver access to high-quality PreK to all 4-year-olds in the state. Our classroom is part of the Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP), Michigan’s state-funded preschool program for four-year-old children.

Our Montessori Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) provides a high-quality early childhood experience that blends Montessori philosophy with GSRP standards to support the whole child. The classroom is designed to encourage independence, concentration, and hands-on exploration through carefully prepared materials and individualized instruction. Children participate in practical life activities, sensorial exploration, early literacy and math experiences, cultural studies, and grace and courtesy lessons that build strong social–emotional skills. Our curriculum aligns with the Michigan Early Childhood Standards of Quality and includes daily opportunities for small-group learning, outdoor play, and extended uninterrupted work time. We partner closely with families through ongoing communication, conferences, and home visits to ensure each child is supported both at school and at home. Our goal is to nurture confident, curious, and independent learners who are well-prepared for kindergarten and future academic success.

Sound It Out, Write It Down

Object Box 1 helps children build phonetic awareness, connect words with real objects, and develop independence through self-correction. In this joyful process, they take their first confident steps toward fluent reading, discovering that spoken language can be unlocked on paper.
