Our Co-Directors

  • Ms. Amber

    Amber was  previously a Lead Teacher of one of our 3-6 classrooms.  She began working at MMS in 2015 as a substitute teacher while attending Delta College for her Child Development Associates (CDA) degree, then became an Assistant Teacher in the 3-6 classroom in 2016.  Miss Amber attended Adrian Dominican Montessori Teacher Education to receive her Montessori Lead Teacher credential and received her  bachelors degree in early childhood education from Central Michigan University. She looks forward to partnering together with families to create a positive Montessori experience for their children.

  • Ms. Sarah

    ​​Sarah was previously the Lead Teacher of our Toddler classroom and Young 3's room. Moving into the Co-director position in October of 2023,  Sarah began working at MMS in 2001. Attending Delta College, she studied child development and in 2005 completed her Montessori Infant/Toddler training through MECA Seton Training Center in Chicago. With her 22 years of classroom experience, she is excited to help teachers learn and grow in Montessori philosophy and education.

Our Staff

  • Ms. Alyssa - Lead Teacher

    Alyssa is the  Lead Teacher in our Infant/Toddler Classroom. She began working at MMS in 2019 and completed her Montessori Lead Teacher training in 2023 at the MECA Seaton Training Center in Chicago. Alyssa promotes a classroom atmosphere that values the unique skills and capabilities of all children and provides a nurturing classroom environment where children are free to explore at their own pace. Alyssa strives to instill a love for learning in children through using Montessori teaching methods that engage children's natural curiosity and initiative.

  • Ms. Amber - Lead Teacher

    Amber is the Lead Teacher in our  Toddler Classroom. She began working at MMS in 2021 and completed her Montessori Lead Teacher Training at MECA Seaton Training Center in Chicago in 2023. Amber strives to engage the curiosity of children in her classroom by providing an environment that supports exploration and develops independence. Amber works to create a peaceful and positive atmosphere in her classroom where children feel safe, loved, and welcome. Amber looks forward to helping children learn, grow, and develop through the use of Montessori practices. 

  • Ms. Jade - Lead Teacher

    Jade is the Lead Teacher of our 2s and 3s Classroom. Jade began working at MMS in 2016. Starting out as a substitute, she moved into an assistant teaching position in our toddler environments in 2018. Jade took over as lead in our young 3s class in November of 2023. Jade strives to create a home like environment in which children can feel safe and confident. By following the children's needs, she hopes to develop passionate learners and instill the love of Montessori within each child.

  • Ms. Katie - Lead Teacher

    Katie is a lead teacher in our 4 yr. old classroom. Her first experiences in the field of education were preparing to teach middle and high school through the Michigan State University College of Education. She loved teaching but found that this was not the right age group for her… fast forward to having her own little one, she realized that working with younger children was her passion! Katie has two years of experience working in a Montessori preschool classroom and she has her Montessori teaching certificate through the North American Montessori Center. 
    Katie grew up in Jackson Michigan and now lives  in Midland with her husband and  8 year old daughter, along with  three dogs and two parakeets! 

  • Ms. Sarah - Lead Teacher

    Sarah is the lead Teacher in the 3-6 classroom. Sarah is excited to join the community and support the children's growth and independence through the Montessori approach. With a warm and caring presence, she brings a deep respect for each child’s unique path of development.

    She enjoys creating calm, engaging environments where children feel safe to explore, ask questions, and build confidence. Sarah looks forward to getting to know each child and becoming a part of the joyful learning that happens every day at MMS!
